Zoltán Kovács: the government has a duty to protect the honor of Hungary

Zoltán Kovács objected that, according to the state secretary, the father of antifa activist Ilaria Salis, who was arrested in Budapest, launched a series of baseless political attacks against Hungary in the international press and the European Parliament.

The politician believed:

in addition to the now usual political attacks in connection with the rule of law, the Hungarian constitutional system, and freedom of the press, a new series of political attacks and slanders has been launched against Hungary in recent weeks and months, in the case of the so-called anti-fascists visiting our country.

He recalled that Ilaria Salis and her colleagues came to Hungary in an organized, group, premeditated manner in order to attack people they thought were fascists. The attack was carried out from behind, so that the attacked had no chance to defend themselves. In doing so, they caused extremely serious and permanent injuries to their victims.

He continued:

in recent weeks, “Ilaria Salis’s father has visited the entire Western European and American press, and even reached the European Parliament, re-formulating such serious, unfounded accusations, as well as joining the already existing unfounded accusations, which cannot be ignored “.

In this way, it was Ilaria Salis’ father who made his own daughter’s case a political issue, and now he is surprised that there are political responses to the unfounded accusations, he added.
