“It was a difficult decision, but the right one. Due to the development of the weather forecast and after consultation with meteorologists and security forces, we decided to move the vintage to next year. The safety of residents and visitors comes first for us, and it would be irresponsible to let the harvest take place at any cost,” said Znojmo Mayor František Koudela.
Znojmo’s historic vintage is the annual highlight of the city’s cultural season, which traditionally attracts thousands of visitors. However, this step was necessary due to the threat of dangerous weather conditions.
“Despite the extensive measures we have prepared, we cannot promise visitors almost all program points. In addition, the risks associated with the holding of the vintage, whether it concerns individual program items or numerous podiums and stalls in the streets, are high in themselves,” adds Karel Semotam, director of Znojemská Besedy. According to him, the decision was not easy at all and they considered all the risks.
Purchased tickets will also be valid for the next year, and if someone cannot use them, they can return them via the Ticketstream portal.
