Zlatan on the injuries: More disappointed with Milan than the European Championships

Zlatan tells the Italian newspaper that he does not want to play less even though he is 39 years old.

– On the contrary, but now I may have to learn to be more realistic and listen more to the body. I do not manage to do that and always go to the max, he says.

An injury to the knee, who made him miss the last matches of the season with Milan, means that there will be no championship comeback this summer. But he has also been away for several more or less long periods during the season.

– I am more disappointed with Milan, because I missed many matches. I would have liked to help more, I am one who usually plays 50 matches a year. Maybe I need to be more realistic, demand less of my body, but I can not do it. Then, of course, I’m disappointed with the European Championships too, but coming back in a tournament when I’m not one hundred percent would not have been my style. I prefer to be next to and cheer on Sweden.

Zlatan also says that he is not worried about his shareholding in a gaming company, which made him get SEK 500,000 in fines by Uefa because players participating in the association’s competitions may not have a financial interest in gaming companies.

– No, because it is being solved. I have not done anything against the regulations, on the contrary, as soon as I returned to Europe I tried to sort it out, says Zlatan.

He is also asked about the European Super League, which Milan, among others, was involved in trying to start this spring, and which received massive opposition.

– I am not so well informed, but I can imagine what has made those clubs act: they are suffering financially, they have tried to find a way to recover. It is rather strange that in some countries like England it has become a question between supporters and clubs, and no one has asked the players, who are the ones in charge of the entertainment. We are the ones who have to play more or less.
