Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Barcelona Career: A Ferrari in a Diesel World

Just imagine, Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored 21 goals, won the La Liga title, Spanish Super Cup, European Super Cup and Club World Cup while at Barcelona in the 2009/2010 season. However, he called this period a career mistake.

Ibrahimovic admitted his explosive personality never suited the philosophy of Barca coach at the time, Pep Guardiola, who was famous for his reflections. “When you buy me, you buy a Ferrari. “If you drive a Ferrari, you put premium petrol in the tank, you enter the highway and you step on the gas,” said Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the time.

“Guardiola filled up on diesel and drove around the countryside. He should buy a Fiat.”

The Swedish striker only lasted one season at Camp Nou before joining AC Milan on loan in the 2010/2011 season. He left Barcelona at the age of 28.

Since then he has scored more than 300 goals in club football, and this is quite a progress.
