Zlatan Ibrahimovic will open up about his relationship with Pep Guardiola in an interview with Piers Morgan.
Despite the fact that the entire interview will not be published until Thursday, Zlatan tells an anecdote in the trailer about his time at FC Barcelona, where Guardiola was at the helm at the time.
“On the first day I came to the club he said to me: ‘Remember, players don’t come to training here in their Ferraris’. So the next day I bought a f*cking Ferrari.” The marriage between Ibrahimovic and FC Barcelona was therefore not a success. The Swedish striker was loaned out to AC Milan after just one season, which took him over permanently from the Catalans the following year.
The now 42-year-old also tells an anecdote about Arsenal. “I was allowed to do an internship at Arsenal, but I don’t do that. I don’t do trial periods because I’m the best.” Ultimately, Ibrahimovic moved to Ajax.

The interview also discusses the state of his former employer Manchester United. Ibrahimovic doubts whether Ten Hag can deal with the big egos at United. The 42-year-old Swede points to the big difference between the English top club and Ajax, Ten Hag’s previous employer. “It’s a big difference to come from Ajax to United,” Ibrahimovic said on TalkTV in conversation with journalist Morgan. “You have a different kind of discipline. Ajax is a club with the best talents. They just don’t have any big stars.”
“What is the experience of this manager? Young talents,” Ibrahimovic indicates. “He comes to United, it’s a different mentality. The players there are supposed to be big stars. I don’t think you give them the same treatment.”
In addition to the dramatic Premier League start, United also started the group stage of the Champions League poorly with a defeat against Bayern Munich. “How much time do you give a manager?” Ibrahimovic asks. “It depends on the owners what they want, but if you listen to the fans you don’t have much time because they want to win and I understand them because they are used to that.”
