AFPHakim Ziyech celebrates the 1-0 against Zambia
NOS Voetbal•gisteren, 23:13
With his first Africa Cup goal, Hakim Ziyech ensured that Morocco reached the eighth finals of the African country tournament. The Moroccans won 1-0 against Zambia in Ivory Coast.
But it didn’t happen. Morocco played with star players Achraf Hakimi, Hakim Ziyech, Ismael Saibari and Sofiane Boufal and hardly got into trouble. When Ziyech scored his first ever African Cup goal after more than half an hour of play with a tap-in from close range, Zambia had already more or less been seen.
Injury Ziyech
The former Ajax player was full of celebration, but that didn’t last long. The midfielder suffered an ankle injury just before halftime. In the second half, Ziyech had to watch the game from the sidelines with an ice pack on his ankle.

The question remains whether Ziyech can take action during the eighth finals. Morocco will play that match against South Africa on January 30. That country finished second in group E, behind Mali.
These are the eighth finals:

28-1: Equatorial Guinea – Guinea and Egypt – Congo Kinshasa
29-1: Cape Verde – Mauritania and Senegal – Ivory Coast
30-1: Mali – Burkina Faso and Morocco – South Africa
