Hakim Ziyech thinks he can reach the same level at Chelsea as in his last period at Ajax. He thinks Chelsea can be compared to Ajax in terms of playing style and wants to show itself in the shirt of The Blues in the coming period. He also briefly discusses his nickname: The Wizard.
In an extensive interview with the Chelsea club channel Ziyech is asked if he could play in the same style as at Ajax. “I think I was able to do that”, Ziyech kicks off. “Sure, the last six months didn’t quite go the way I wanted, but it is what it is. I have to keep improving. I’ve been unlucky with my injury, but there’s still plenty of time. I’m sure when I get in. believe myself, can reach the same level as at Ajax. “
Ziyech’s nickname, The Wizard, raised some question marks when he came to Chelsea. He has now dispelled those doubts. “I played a match for Ajax in the past and after that game one of the people from the club’s social media channels gave me that nickname. From that moment on everyone started using it. Even now, when I get back to Amsterdam, people call me so.”
