The scandalous outing of the president of the French Football Federation (FFF), Noël Le Graët, against the legend of French football, Zinedine Zidane, has mobilized the elite of football in particular and of sport in general and also the political world to defend the former number 10 of the French team.
This mobilization can mainly be explained by the fact that the attack on the French football boss was gratuitous, at a time when Zinedine Zidane is known for being an affable and discreet man, a man who never provokes anyone. After all, it is with silence that he has chosen to face this shameful attack by the president of the FFF.
But in reality Zinedine Zidane is not as silent as you think. According to 1998 world champion Christophe Dugarry, the star of the French team and Real Madrid reacted to Noël Le Graët’s attack in a WhatsApp group bearing the name “France 1998”. But Zizou’s former teammate refused to divulge what he said during exchanges in this group.
“What if I had Zidane since the release of Le Graët? No, I didn’t understand Zizou, but I also don’t want to betray a state secret, but we communicated. (…) What if Zidane replied to our messages? Yes, but then I won’t tell you what he replied, what we said to each other and all that,” the 1998 world champion told RMC Sport.
But if we cannot know what Zidane said, we already know that the president of the FFF could resign on Wednesday 11 January, on the occasion of the holding of an extraordinary Executive Committee of the Federation he presides over. His crush on Zinedine Zidane weakened him a lot and maybe he will win on Wednesday.
