Karlsruhe (dpa) – According to DFB executive committee member Ronny Zimmermann, presidential candidate Peter Peters does not have the format for the top post. “I have no problems with him, but I think that the job in the front row is just too big for him and he doesn’t have the standing in the width,” said the 60-year-old lawyer from Wiesloch in an interview with “Badische Latest News” (Wednesday).
Zimmermann is responsible for youth football and refereeing at the German Football Association and is the amateurs’ candidate for the office of 1st Vice President. The president of the Baden Football Association complained about the bad image of the DFB before the association’s Bundestag on Friday in Bonn, where former Schalke top official Peters and Bernd Neuendorf are running as candidates for the presidential elections. “The DFB is much better than the picture that is drawn of it,” said Zimmermann. 95 percent of the current problems arose before 2013, 2014: “These are age-old issues that we are working through.”
