A new Zika virus outbreak is very likely and a single mutation is enough to trigger an explosive spread, scientists warn.

The disease caused a global medical emergency in 2016, and thousands of babies were born with brain damage after their mothers contracted the Zika virus during pregnancy.

Researchers in the US say the world should be aware of the new mutations of this virus.

From research in the laboratory, described in the journal Cell Reportsindicating that this virus can quickly change, and create new variants.
