That’s right, people who have no real/comparable choice are simply taken hostage by Ziggo. If you want a fixed IPv4 you are completely out of luck.
That was also the case with me until recently, until I received a flyer from KPN last autumn and my fiber optic network was delivered just before Christmas. The diggers in my street were my best friends. I switched to KPN fiber as soon as I could. The speed and low latency is really a breath of fresh air. Moreover, no extra modem/router (with a broken Puma chipset) in bridged mode between my router and the internet (save power), IPv4 and IPv6.
The only thing that I found better (and therefore missing) at Ziggo is TV subtitling (At KPN that is a drama, especially if you watch the BBC with heavy British accents that are difficult for NLers to follow, then it is nice and instructive to join in. to be able to read with the DVB subtitles) and the fact that Ziggo has an AppleTV app and KPN does not.
The price for the above is more or less the same at KPN and Ziggo (small business).
Immediately switched from Ziggo Business SME to KPN ONE MBK saves me €35 per month. And then you go from 600/50 to 1000/1000 with much lower latency, also with static IPv4/29 and IPv6/56. Strangely enough, with KPN EEN you get an IPv6 /56 and with small businesses a /48. With the /56, I’m fine with 256 /64 subnets, by the way.
