Ziganshin’s Search and Asylum in France: An Account of Resignation from Higher Tank Command School in Kazan

Ziganshin has been serving at the Higher Tank Command School in Kazan since 2021.

In the summer of 2022, he wrote a letter of resignation when he learned that he and his colleagues were going to be sent to Kherson.

He went to Kazakhstan without a passport and asked for asylum in France. In Russia, he was included in the search.

French authorities, which said they would grant asylum to Russians who evaded mobilization or deserted from the army, did not grant it to Zyganshin.
