Very soon, on May 27, the legendary band “Zig Zag” will present their latest album to the general public at the “Noass” art center. Until then, it has started presenting its new sound material, releasing a video for the song “Space”.

The name of the album came when my children and I raised a snowman in the park and when it came the next day, it had dried up – in a small puddle of snow. The children asked where the snowman was, and I replied that in space, ”says Uldis Timoško, a drummer of the Zig Zag group. Fans of the band will definitely like this song – in the typical “Zig Zag” style of the new times.
“Zig Zag” is a Latvian alternative rock / punk rock band – one of the first Latvian bands in this genre of music. The group was formed in 1985, when it was called “Out”. The group’s soloists were Juris Lasinskis and Guido Linga (then Vasilyev), and she performed at vocational and high school events. Currently the band plays Juris Lasinskis (vocals, solo guitar), Jānis Māriņš (bass guitar, synthesizer, voice) and Uldis Timoško (drums, voice). The group is just like a phoenix – it is reborn from the ashes and then disappears again. In December 2013, the Zig Zag double-disc was released under the auspices of Naba Music. The group also has the albums “All Things” (1994), “Lemon Steals” (1996), “Seasons” (2012), “Signe Melo” (2013) and “Donkey I” (2016). “Letters to a Snowman in Space” is the band’s latest album, also released by Naba Music – a dozen brand new songs that have been made in recent years.
