Light festival in the Botanical Garden of the University of Warsaw

The “Ziemas nedarbi” light festival has started in the Botanical Garden of the University of Warsaw, where more than 15 different light installations can be seen. Latvian theater actors, Latvian lighting artists and artificial intelligence have been involved in creating the content of the installations. In the installations, you can see light in its various manifestations, you can hear the children’s poetry of Latvian authors.
Most of the light installations are new creations and created especially for this light festival. Inta Tirole, Đirts ķesteris, Indra Burkovska, Zane Dombrovska, Marija Linarte, Valdis Lūriņš, Igor Šelegovskis, Karīna Tatarinova, Uldis Dumpis, Egon Dombrovskis, Elīna Vāne, Andris Keiš, Andris Bulis, Mārtiņš Brūveris and artificial intellect, visitors are invited to recognize the poetry of Jānis Baltvilkas, Māras Zālītes, Ojāras Vācieš, Vytautas Lūdenas, Ines Zanderes, Pēteras Brūvers and Aspazijas and Rainas.
It has already been reported that from December 20 to January 14, a new light festival “Winter misdeeds” will take place in the LU Botanical Garden.
Authors who participated in the creation of the light festival have participated in the realization of the Winter Light Garden, the light festival “Staro Rīga”, the walk “Illuminated Liepāja”, the light performances “Dream” and many other light events in Latvia. The festival of light is created as a unified light walking trail – a colorful winter adventure with lights, poetry and actors, installations and music, video projections and lasers. With the motto “Don’t let joy hibernate!” the authors of the light festival will invite visitors of all ages to the Botanical Garden of the University of Warsaw.
One of the main authors of the light festival will be artificial intelligence – under the leadership of festival director Dita Lūriņa, together with actors from Latvian theaters, it will invite everyone to recall the works of popular poets and offer their own interpretation of them. The creative team behind the event of light has given the artificial intelligence various audiovisual tasks to transform the winterized Botanic Garden. More than 15 light objects will be on display at the light festival, everyone will have the opportunity to participate and influence the content of the objects. The organizers of the event invite: “Charge your mobile phone and be ready for a fun and unusual walk.”
The light festival “Ziemas nedarbi” will be waiting for visitors in the Botanical Garden of LU from December 20 to January 14, 2023 every evening (except December 24 and 31) from 17.00 to 22.00 (last entry at 21.00).
It will not be possible to enter the territory of the LU Botanical Garden with animals, winter delicacies cafes will be open. Visitors are invited to bring a good mood and weather-appropriate clothing. It will also be possible to buy group tickets and special student group tickets.
