The idea of the Ziedonis anniversary concert came from Paul, who has a large collection of pop songs with the poetry of Imantas Ziedonis.
According to the publication “Privatā Dzīve”, the composer made a confession in the first part of the concert. Now and then he writes a verse, but … they come across so rude that it’s better not to say them out loud at all.
At the end of the concert, however, Paul decided not to hold a candle under the dowry anymore and recited one: “And on the edge of your grave there is more shit than gravel.” Paul added – who knows, maybe he will create a special concert program where there will be songs with similar verses created by him.
