This Friday, October 30, at the floating art gallery “Noass” there will be a presentation concert of the group “Židrūns” new album “Židrūns for cowards’ grandchildren”. Maybe finally the listeners will be able to find out who they are about the grandchildren’s grandchildren – various surprises are promised…
For the vocal instrumental music quartet, which has been operating under the name “Židrūna” since 2003, the events of this spring, changes in everyday life and cultural life have given many impressions to accomplish something unusual for the group.
The advent of the virus, a bunch of tragic numbers and surprising limitations, the switching of fellow citizens and group members to isolation mode, gave Židrūnas a passionate stage of creativity, and then most of the nine new compositions were created. However, the “Židrūns kovārņu grandchildren” vinyl record hides two additional compositions that will not be available on music streaming platforms, so to get a full version of the album with all 11 compositions, you have to go to a concert, music stores or buy an album digitally. “An unusual plate, an unusual beer and an unusual warm-up group,” the concert organizers entice.
Out of surprises, the concert will be made a little special by the warming group, which is known only by its name “DZ” and belonging to the rehearsal room of Ādmiņu Street 4. In cooperation with the brewery “Nurme”, a beer brewed especially for this event has been created and will be available at the concert, which has been given the name of the group’s album. From less pleasant surprises – the complicated epidemiological situation in the country dictates different rules for the usual course of the concert: the spectator area will be outside “Noah”, the number of listeners and tickets is very limited. The group encourages concert attendees to use face shields to protect themselves and others. It should be noted that he has not met the audience at the live concert “Židrūns” since December 2019.
