Zidanovka and scissors. Sparta beat Stuttgart, but the coaches criticized

Luck helped the Spartans to score the first goal, Waldemar Anton knocked Jakub Jankt’s weak shot into his own net. From then on, they believed more and did not allow Stuttgart more opportunities.

“The positive thing is that we didn’t let the opponent have more chances, which also decorated us in the last league matches. We are glad that the boys continue to do well. We are strong and solid in a deeper position,” Loučka told the club’s website.

At the training camp, the Spartans mainly want to hone their tactics and style of play. Despite the unequivocal result, however, the coaches were not satisfied in this area.

“We wanted to focus on certain little things, but we couldn’t transfer them to the field, especially in the defensive phase or in the high pressing. We still have to work on that. We let the opponent move to the center circle and into our defense all too easily,” admitted Loučka.

In the match, three new reinforcements out of four got a chance. Serbian stopper Dimitrije Kamenovic started from the start. Finnish midfielder Kaan Kairinen and Australian winger Awer Mabil jumped into the second half.

He showed off a great “Zidanov style” loop, then sent the ball in an arc to Lukáš Haraslín, who acrobatically shot sharply into the goalkeeper’s counter-movement.

“I’m glad that it fell to me with a pair of scissors. I often try it in training and it’s my favorite ending,” beamed Haraslín.

The other foreigners were sure and didn’t make too many mistakes. However, the performance was far from ideal.

“The reinforcements brought a revival and they were good performances. It was fine for the first match they played. Of course, they, like our other players, have a lot of room for improvement,” praised Loučka.

The last revival of the Spartan squad, which is still waiting for the first minutes, is the Albanian midfielder Qazim Laci. He joined the team in Marbella, Spain later.

“I think we deserved to win. We scored in the first and second half, so we showed a consistent performance. In the match we showed what we try to do in training. I think that is important for the next fights,” said Haraslín.

And he added: “We have excellent conditions for training in Spain, I think we are doing well in trying out new elements offensively and defensively and at the same time transferring them to matches. Today we combined quickly, we were direct and precise, which helped us to the result.”

The Spartans’ next opponent at the training camp will be Austria’s Salzburg, which the Praguers will face on Monday. The last test before the start of the spring part of the season will be Germany’s Nuremberg, which Sparta will welcome at home at Letná.
