Madrid –
Real Madrid still survive in LaLiga and Champions League. Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane believes his team has been criticized unfairly this season.
At the end of last week, Madrid managed to beat Eibar 2-0 in the Spanish League continued. The result means that Madrid are unbeaten in their last 11 matches in all competitions with nine wins.
With that result, The whites still perched in third place in the standings after collecting 63 points. However, Madrid cut the gap with competition leaders Atletico Madrid to three points so that the competition for the 2020-21 LaLiga title is still wide open.
In European competitions, Real Madrid is the only Spanish team that has reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Three other teams; Atletico, Barcelona and Sevilla ran aground in the last 16.
Madrid’s progress is much better now than at the start of last season when they almost fell out of the group stage, a situation that had threatened the future Zidane. But now that Madrid have returned to their level, Zidane feels his team is lacking recognition.
“I believe so,” Zidane replied when asked if Madrid were underappreciated. “In the end, we deserve the trust. What has been said, we really can’t change everything. What we can do is do our job every day.”
“But throughout history, this team has reversed many situations that have been said. We never give up on many things, never. While as long as there is an opportunity, we always fight,” he continued on. Football365.
“We have indeed experienced difficult moments. Now we are in a good moment, even though it doesn’t mean anything for now. We have to continue to fight and compete,” Zidane said of Real Madrid.
