Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
The leading Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano claims Zinedine Zidane willing to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from Manchester United.
Romano made this claim while talking to the Youtube channel, The United Stand. Romano believes Zidane and other candidates like Conte will be tempted to return to coaching if an offer comes from the Man Utd management.
Despite making that claim, Romano ensured that until now the coach seat occupied by Solskjaer was still safe. The Norwegian coach continues to get support from the club in the midst of poor results experienced by the Red Devils.
Cristiano Ronaldo et al have only won one win in the last five matches. The rest, Man Utd won one draw and swallowed three defeats in all competitions.
“The first thing I can say at this moment is that there is no contact between Zidane and Man United. The same is true for Conte,” Romano said as quoted by the Daily Mail. Pundit Arena.
“But my feeling is that these managers know United have a fantastic team. I don’t think Conte and Zidane will think ‘I’ll turn United down if they call me’. It’s not about that. It’s about a decision from management, and they’re still protecting Ole. , he continued.
Despite still getting support from management, Solskjaer’s position does not mean it is completely safe. The former Cardiff City coach has the potential to follow in the footsteps of David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho who were sacked if they do not quickly bring Man Utd to winning ways.
The test for Solskjaer is already waiting in sight. Solskjaer must bring victory when Man United host Atalanta in the Champions League group stage if he doesn’t want the seat he occupies to get hotter.
Meanwhile, Zidane currently has not coached any team since deciding to leave Real Madrid at the end of last season. The living legend of the French national team itself has long been associated with the Man Utd coaching chair.
