Fortune naturalization two descendant players namely Zico Soree and Raffaele Struick already determined. Only one name is processed for naturalization.
Zico and Raphael had a try Indonesia Under-20 National Team at a training camp (TC) in Spain recently. The pair also played three test matches against Slovakia Under-20s, Valerenga Under-20s and Malaga Under-20s.
Of the three games, only Rafael contributed, scoring a goal. Meanwhile, Zico, who is a forward for PEC Zwolle U-21, failed to show off. Under-20 national team coach Shin Tae-yong immediately evaluated the two after the end of the TC in Spain.
Shin Tae-yong has decided to cancel Zico. Meanwhile, Rafael will be on trial for naturalization and arrived in Jakarta, Thursday (12/15/2022).
“Yes (Zico) has been cancelled,” said the PSSI Technical Director Indra Sjafri to reporters.
“The candidate for a naturalized player, namely Rafael Struick arrived in Jakarta on Thursday (15/12) evening. Rafael Struijk is a 19-year-old Dutch-Indonesian player who plays for ADO Den Haag club, Netherlands”, wrote a PSSI statement.
Raffaele Struick came to Indonesia to undergo medical examination and arrange complete documents in the country. Previously, Ivar Jenner and Justin Hubner did the same at the end of last October.
This means that there are already three players whose naturalizations are pending. Indeed, Shin Tae-yong is looking for talents for players of Indonesian origin to participate in the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup and the 2023 U-20 World Cup.
“PSSI and I are waiting for Coach Shin, if 3 is enough, that’s enough. If there really needs to be more, add it, because all requests are in Coach Shin’s hands,” said Indra Sjafri.
