In front of Nova TV, Martinov declared that he is innocent and that he was defrauded by his debtor.
The investigation against Martynov started after a businessman from Dobrich complained that he was asked to hand over 4 tons of sujuk.
Zivko Martinov claims that the person who filed the report owes him money for rent. “I made receipts to claim the amount, but it turned out that the three companies that had contracts with me were sold to disadvantaged people,” said Martynov.
“It’s normal to be offended. I served GERB for 11 years, asking for nothing personally. It is normal for a person to feel offended when he has worked for the benefit of the party,” he added.
“I read the case after he was indicted. There is not a single expertise in the files”, commented Hristo Botev, the lawyer of Zivko Martinov.
Martynov stated that he is not a “nice sheikh”, and regarding the comments that he was among the silent ones in the National Assembly, he explained that he is a “business person”, not a “person who speaks political phrases”. “If you ask me about work and trade, I would tell you…” he added.
Zhivko Martinov is adamant that politics is already a closed page for him.
