20,000 tons it is the number of gift packaging that is thrown away each year in France. An essential object during the Christmas holidays, it could however be replaced by more ecological alternatives. In any case, it is on the basis of this alarming observation that the two women from Rouen Flavie Bénard and Anne-Charlotte Bouchet have decided to launch Lovalova, a company specializing in reusable and zero waste gift bags.
“Ecological, desirable and accessible” pockets
The two young women had the idea for this project at the beginning of 2021 when, in order to offer gift packaging for their marketplace, they encountered a lack of ecological alternatives. “We all have in mind the family meals at Christmas where the gift wrapping ends up in the trash, often without being recycled. We therefore sought to make packaging that could meet three criteria, that is to say, be ecological, desirable and accessible, ”explains Flavie Bénard. After several months of design, the Lovalova pouches were born.
An innovative material
In order to obtain reusable pouches that are resistant to handling and adhesives, they are made in Europe from an innovative FSC-certified paper and made from long wood fibers with a texture reminiscent of textile on arrival. “What is important to us is that our packaging leaves as few traces as possible”, explains the co-founder. The pouches, made with 100% paper and with solvent-free inks, will thus be biodegradable and compostable at the end of their life.
In addition to its three models in blue, green and pink, the brand called on two committed artists, @ici_jozi and @mllebelamour in order to create modern and colorful visuals. In order to customize the sleeves as much as possible, sheets of colored stickers are also available.
Available in two different sizes, the Lovalova pouches are priced at 1.90 euros for the small, and 2.90 euros for the large.
The pockets are available on their website and in stores at Amaï concept store located 15, rue Beauvoisine in Rouen and Hélio located 16 bis, rue Alfred Kastler in Mont-Saint-Aignan. Find the complete list of resellers on the Lovalova website.-
