Zero stands in four counties

Dhe counties of Lahn-Dill and Vogelsberg and the city of Darmstadt have had no confirmed coronavirus infections for a week. The Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs therefore shows a zero for the important so-called seven-day incidence. This value relates to the number of new cases recorded within 100,000 inhabitants within a week. If it exceeds the threshold of 50, the authority can withdraw previous easing in everyday social and economic life.

A zero in the seven-day incidence also stands for the districts of Gießen and Marburg-Biedenkopf. There has been a new infection in the past seven days. However, this is not statistically significant so that zero is at risk. A seven is reported for Frankfurt; only 52 of the 1577 infections recorded were confirmed within a week. At the bottom of this ranking is Wiesbaden (13), while Odenwald, which has had the highest incidence for a long time, now has a four; there it was Corona virus erupted in several old people’s homes weeks ago. But the situation has calmed down.

55 confirmed coronavirus infections, one less than the previous day, were reported in Hesse from Wednesday to Thursday. This results from the data of the leader in disease control Robert Koch Institute (RKI) and the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs. The plus for Wednesday is 0.6 percent and is on the previous day’s level. Five other pandemic deaths are reported. All in all, 471 Corona victims have been registered since March 2, when records began. All confirmed infections add up to 9915.

The RKI has stated that the number of recovered people is around 8,700. Arithmetically, 18.5 recovered people per death. This value has been largely stable for days and only fluctuates after the decimal point.

With regard to the number of people who have recovered, the following restriction must always be observed: How the RKI of the F.A.Z. reported, it does not officially collect data on the number of those recovered. The survey was also not provided for by law. “However, at least in the cases in which most of the information was ascertained, which had no severe symptoms and were not admitted to a hospital, it can be assumed that they will have recovered after 14 days at the latest,” says Berlin on Seat of the institute. The RKI only estimates the number of those recovered.

As the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs reported last week, 572 Covid-19 patients were in Hessian clinics at the time. Accordingly, 110 of them had to be ventilated. 9841 beds were free. The same was true for 853 beds with ventilators, according to the ministry. Because there is no emergency in this regard either, one comes inexpensive Marburg invention currently not on the move.

The RKI takes into account those cases that were transmitted on the respective day at midnight. “For the presentation of the newly transmitted cases per day, the reporting date is used – the date on which the local health authority became aware of the case and recorded it electronically,” says the website of the institute. It could take a few days between the notification by the doctors and laboratories to the health authority and the transmission of the cases to the responsible state authorities and the RKI. In such cases there is talk of late reporting.
