Zenit defeated Akhmat in the debut match of Mario Fernandez

The players of the St. Petersburg “Zenith” at home beat the Grozny “Akhmat” with a score of 2: 0 in the first match of the group stage “Fonbet” – the Cup of Russia.
Goals were scored by Gustavo Mantuan (39th minute) and Claudinho (80th).
In the second half, the former defender of CSKA and the Russian national team, Mario Fernandez, made his debut as part of Zenit, who came on as a substitute in the 63rd minute.
Dynamo suffered a second consecutive defeat with a new head coach
Fernandez signed with Zenit on 17 July.
In the next round in Group C, Zenit will play away with the Samara Wings of the Soviets on August 9, Akhmat will host the Kaliningrad Baltika on the same day.
