Zenit midfielder Wendel is disappointed that he failed to move to Brazil’s Flamengo this summer. By information Goal, the midfielder wanted to leave Zenit during the current transfer window.
Flamengo was in talks with the St. Petersburg club about his transfer, but the deal never took place. The transfer window in Brazil closed on 2 August. Zenit planned to receive 18 million euros for Wendel (with the requirement to pay 50% of this amount in cash) and the payment of solidarity payments. The Brazilians did not agree to such conditions.
After an unsuccessful transfer attempt, Wendel promised the Flamengo coaches and his entourage that he would definitely join the Brazilian club in the next transfer window – in winter.
