Zendaya won’t let anyone else use her Instagram account.
The actress attaches great importance to presenting herself as authentically as possible on her social media profile. There she has around 85 million followers who eagerly await new posts from the brunette beauty every day. “I’m very, very special when it comes to my Instagram account, so nobody but me has access to it,” explains the 24-year-old. “I think it’s important to be honest about these things.”
Speaking to the HFPA in Conversation podcast, Zendaya reveals that she used to be a lot more active on social media. However, this had a negative impact on their mental health. “Over time, I found that it made me anxious when I was online or thinking a little too much or spending too much time on my phone,” she admits. Today her relationship with social media is healthier than it was a few years ago. “[Mein Account] belongs to me and is very personal, but at the same time I like to keep a little distance from it, ”says the ‘Greatest Showman’ actress.
