Fomins is a hockey student from Liepāja and the 22-year-old forward has never played outside his hometown before. “I was surprised at how well I was received here. The guys were more or less well known because there were no problems.” Zemgale / LLU “was the only team in Latvia that was interested in me, and his interest was directly related to the participation of “Mestis.” Everyone understands that this season is the OHL championship bite weaker than last year. You wanted a higher level and why not play here in Latvia, but at a better level?”Says Fomin.
“Honestly, I was surprised that” Liepāja “decided not to participate in the OHL championship. In the last season everything went so well, everything was organized and then all of a sudden they say they will not play.
