More or less 24 hours of hospitalization at the Pierangeli nursing home in Pescara, after which the former Bohemian coach Zdnenek Zeman he will return to Rome for the long term rehabilitation that awaits him: this is the new process that the 77-year-old will follow after his hospitalization in the Abruzzo capital’s facility last Tuesday for an ischemic attack and is followed by the head of Cardiology, Prof. Stefano Guarracini.
The recovery at Gemelli
Guarracini communicated the latest news on Zeman’s health conditions to the press. “He is stable and will return to Rome for rehabilitation tomorrow”, he announced after the reassurances of Sunday 20 October in which he made it known that he was in stable condition, that he spoke and was lucid. The structure that will host it will be the Gemelli Polyclinic of Rome where he will spend all the necessary time before returning home. According to the rumors and the problem that has affected the former Pescara coach, no short timescales are announced: there is talk of at least a month which he will have to spend in the Neuro-rehabilitation department in order to resolve the movement deficit that affected the right side of his body.
The dedication of Pescara
Forever in the hearts of the “Delfino” managers and clubs, in the last championship match in which Mr. Baldini’s team obtained three precious points away against Spal, a thought flew to Zeman. “If we are up here it is because of the work he did before us”, declared the coach. The fundamental thing is that the great fear after the ischemia has now passed: at first the family members feared for his life, he was rushed from Rome to Pescara where he had already been hospitalized in recent months for the first ischemia and the subsequent coronary surgery and will now be able to return to the capital for full and complete psycho-motor recovery.
Di Biagio’s thoughts
Even though he has never worn the Pescara shirt as a professional, he is very attached to the city Gigi Di Biagio, former Roma and Inter footballer who in a Padel challenge with football glories such as Vincent Candela, Gianluca Zambrotta and Christian Panucci, wanted to reserve an affectionate thought for Zeman who coached him both at Foggia and Roma.
“The discussion about him goes beyond football. For me he is a second father, when he is not well I worry and it touches my heart. The situation is now under control, so I will go and visit him to wish him good luck in person.”
