Due to the pandemic, several honor years were combined, so that a proud 56 honors were recorded. Blood donors who were able to record ten, 25, 50, 75 or even 125 donations were honored. Mayor Palme opened the evening with a special thank you to the donors for their extraordinary willingness to help and emphasized the tireless commitment of the DRK local association in Zell. In addition to the blood donations, the local association has shown, especially during the pandemic, which voluntary support services can be implemented quickly and efficiently. “Blood saves lives and to this day it still cannot be produced artificially. This is precisely why your donation is so valuable,” Palme is quoted as saying in a statement from the city of Zell.
