Zell am See: Paraglider collides with Schmittenhöhe lift

As reported by the Salzburg police, the lines of the aircraft are likely to have caught, which is why the pilot went too far to the right immediately after take-off. As a result, the paraglider and his umbrella got stuck on the ropes of the Schmittenhöhe lift, which was out of service.

Paragliders freed from Schmittenhöhe cable car

The 57-year-old then hung about eight meters above the ground. Four employees of the Schmittenhöhe cable car finally succeeded in rappelling the paraglider down unharmed and thus freeing him from his predicament. As a precaution, the Zell am See mountain rescue service and the “Alpin Heli 6” emergency doctor’s helicopter were requested.
