There was a crash yesterday late in the evening on the Loferer Straße in Zell am See. A drunk driver turned onto the B178 at an intersection without paying attention to the oncoming traffic and rammed a car.

A traffic accident occurred on Sunday at around 10:45 p.m. on Loferer Straße (B178) in Zell am See (Pinzgau). A 39-year-old car driver was driving towards Maishofen when a 35-year-old driver turned onto Loferer Straße towards Maishofen at the intersection with Saalfeldnerstraße without paying attention to the oncoming traffic. The two vehicles collided, police reported.
During the accident investigation, the 35-year-old driver was found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.18 per mille. The driver’s license was temporarily confiscated and he was prohibited from driving any further. He will be reported.
The breathalyzer test on the 39-year-old driver was negative. The two local drivers were uninjured in the accident. However, the vehicles sustained significant material damage.
