Zelensky was in Paris on December 12 and 13. Attended a conference dedicated to supporting Ukraine, a fundraising event, gave an interview to the media, together with the wife of the French president, Brigitte Macron, visited the French National Library and a school where refugees from war ukrainians.
Already during the visit it was rumored that she had actually gone on an expensive shopping trip. They also reached Latvia.
“When someone knows nothing of the sufferings of war, while the people themselves sit in the cold and in the dark,” says a post published in Latvian. Another said Zelenska spent $42,000 “visiting the country to ask the world to send more money to Ukraine.”
The US publication “Newsweek” investigated whether the first social media post about the alleged shopping trip had already been published on December 12. A profile named De Fabron Olivier on Twitter wrote: “Zelenska, passing through Paris, could have paid around 40,000 euros in an hour on Avenue Montaigne. (Reliable source: customer service employee of the shop in question).”
The author of the post did not provide any proof, furthermore, he stated on Twitter that he lives in the United States, not France.
