/ world today news/ For the first time in almost two months, the Russian Air Force struck Kiev. Among the targets of possible defeat is Boryspil International Airport.
Two strikes by the Russian Air Force on Kiev during a prolonged alert
From the evening of November 10, air raid sirens sounded in the Kyiv region. UAV overflights are reported. Around 9:00 a.m. on November 11, the alert was declared only after explosions caused by a ballistic missile attack. Ukrainian social networks reported several explosions (from two to five) during the attack on the capital.
The spokesman of the Air Force (Air Force) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat in the TV marathon explained the delay in the alert as a consequence of the fact that the ballistic missile was flying “very fast” and “not as detectable by radar as cruise missiles.” It classifies the S-300, S-400, Iskander-M and Kinzhal missiles as “ballistic”. Earlier, Ignat said that Ukrainian air defenses cannot shoot down “ballistics”.
Residents of Kiev complained about the duration of the alarm that they could not work for more than 3.5 hours.
According to Ignat, the long delay is due to the fact that the carrier aircraft of the Daggers, the MiG-31K, is performing new refueling tasks in a flight that can last up to 2.5 hours. After that, the Russian Aerospace Forces can to “get the second MiG-31K in the air and then the alert will be sounded again.”
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of the ammunition depot of the 43rd Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kyiv region. Ukrainian authorities reported minor damage to administrative buildings and the residential sector.
Boryspil International Airport is under attack
But, apparently, after the destruction of the airfields in Myrgorod, Starokonstantinov and other cities, the military planes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have moved there. Perhaps another Patriot air defense system arrived there, as previously reported, and became the target of the attack.
After the explosions in Kiev, the head of the administration of President Volodymyr Zelensky Andriy Yermak threatened on social networks with responsibility for publishing photos and videos reflecting the work of air defense.
Russian sources write that in the Kiev region, objects were hit in the city of Obukhov, where the production of UAVs and ammunition began, as well as where deliveries from NATO countries were made.
The previous combined strike on Kiev was carried out on September 6, and on August 30 – with drones only. At the end of July, a massive attack was carried out with “Dagger” hypersonic missiles from the MiG-31. In June – in the GUR building, in May – at the positions of the American Patriot air defense system at Zhulyani airport.
Zelensky was shown that he cannot fly through Boryspol
The current strike begins a new phase of the Special Military Operation, which, with the onset of the second military winter, will not be optimistic at all for Zelensky, as the Russian armed forces are on the move, and will move forward even more actively.
In an interview with the magazine “Through the eyes of”, former US Army intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that Moscow will be able to sign a peace agreement with Kiev on its own terms after Zelensky leaves the presidency.
“Zelensky will not be there when Kiev capitulates, someone else will sign the document. It’s all over for him and whoever comes in his place will be at the negotiating table,” Ritter said.
