Volodymyr Zelensky announced that negotiations are underway with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and Switzerland in connection with the second peace summit, Reuters reported. The Ukrainian president announced this in a conversation with Indian journalists, published today on his social network.
Zelensky also said he told Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he would support India hosting the second peace summit, as Kiev hopes to find a host among countries in the Global South.
However, the Ukrainian president set one condition.
“However, I want to be frank, and this applies not only to India, but to any country that is positive about hosting the second summit: We will not be able to organize a summit for peace in a country that has yet did not join the communiqué from the previous peace summit,” he stressed, quoted by BTA.
India is among the countries that refused to sign the communiqué of the first summit in Switzerland. The Ukrainian president added that in his meeting with Modi on Friday, he discussed the first summit for peace, as well as all the points of the communique.
