“The main goal of this plan is to force Russia to end the war. And I very much want it to be fair for Ukraine,” he told reporters in Kiev, without elaborating.
Zelensky also said he would discuss the plan with Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and possibly Republican Donald Trump, the two main contenders in the US presidential election.
Zelensky hopes to go to the United States in September to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
He is adamant that Russia wants to dictate Ukraine’s terms on any end to the war, something Kiev considers unacceptable.
The Ukrainian army claims it already controls more than 1,300 square kilometers and more than 100 villages in Russia’s Kursk region as it continues to advance.
“There can be no compromises with Putin, the dialogue now is basically futile and meaningless, because he does not want to end the war through diplomatic means,” Zelensky believes.
