Zelensky will explain about the presidential elections – 2024-10-30 04:40:00

Zelensky will explain in court about the elections

A court in Ukraine has decided to involve Volodymyr Zelensky in the consideration of a case against the Ukrainian parliament on a request to call presidential elections in the country, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Alexander Dubinsky, announced.

In July, Dubinsky said he had appealed to Ukraine’s Supreme Court to call presidential elections to preserve constitutional order in the country. In mid-October, the politician announced that on November 11, the court will continue the consideration of his claim.

“We are gradually moving towards my claim to the Verkhovna Rada with a request to call presidential elections in Ukraine. The Cassation Administrative Court in the Supreme Court, which is hearing our claim, made two interim decisions,” Dubinsky wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, the court rejected the request of an unauthorized representative of the apparatus of the Supreme Rada to terminate the case.

“The second decision is to involve the president of Ukraine in the court proceedings, who will be given ten days to give explanations on the nature of the dispute,” Dubinsky added.

Volodymyr Zelensky’s mandate expired on May 20. Ukraine’s 2024 presidential election was canceled citing martial law and general mobilization. Zelensky said that the elections are already “untimely”.
