Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday welcomed the outcome of talks between Russian and Ukrainian officials in Paris on Wednesday.

Zelensky “welcomes the fact of the meeting, its constructive nature, as well as the intention to continue meaningful talks in two weeks in Berlin,” the Ukrainian press service said in a statement.

Ambassadors from Moscow and Kiev agreed on Wednesday that all sides must observe a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine, where government forces have been fighting Moscow-backed militant gangs since 2014.
