Putin is counting on the collapse of Western support for Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said to G7 leaders during a video conference meeting, AFP reported. He reported that the Russian army had significantly increased the pressure on the front.
“Russia hopes for one thing, that the unity of the free world will collapse next year. Russia thinks that America and Europe will show weakness and will not maintain their support for Ukraine at an appropriate level,” the Ukrainian president told the G7 leaders .
“We are maintaining important bridgeheads on several front lines and are preparing for the next steps – and long-range capabilities help and will help a lot,” Zelensky told the G7 leaders, speaking about the situation on the front, Ukrinform reported.
The Ukrainian president said that Ukraine has a realistic strategy for action and that its efforts – with the support of partners – can ensure the country’s success on the ground.
Zelensky also noted that Russian President Putin intends to simulate re-election for a new presidential term and quell the growing dissatisfaction of Russians with the results of the war. “He significantly increased the pressure on the front,” added Zelensky, quoted by the Ukrainian news agency. “But our soldiers are resisting the attacks. Putin has not won a single operation this year,” Zelensky stressed.
US President Joe Biden told the US Congress that financial aid to Ukraine cannot waitthe world agencies reported.
Biden’s warning came at a time when Democrats and Republicans in Congress have failed to reach an agreement on unblocking new financial aid to support Kiev, notes AFP.
A failure of the vote in Congress to allocate additional funds to Kiev “will be the best gift offered to Putin”, stressed Biden, and said that if the Russian president succeeds in conquering Ukraine, he will not stop.

Regarding the aid to Ukraine blocked in Congress, Biden said that he is ready for important compromises on the issue of migration along the US-Mexico border, France Press reported.
The question of the border does not arise here by chance. Members of Congress have been unable to agree on aid to Kiev because conservative lawmakers have made their approval of the aid conditional on tightening immigration policies on the border with Mexico, something Democrats refuse to accept.
