Zelensky to the Hungarian Prime Minister: Listen, Viktor, do you know what’s going on in Mariupol?

Addressing the European Union summit in Brussels and the people of Europe, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke directly to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, urging the Hungarian leader to stop hesitating, to support more Ukraine and to take a stronger stance against Russia.

“Hungary. I want to stop here and be honest. One time and another. You have to decide for yourself who you are. You are a sovereign country. I have been in Budapest. I adore your city.”

According to the President of Ukraine, he and his family also visited the Holocaust Memorial “Shoes on the Danube” in Budapest.

“Listen, Viktor, do you know what’s going on in Mariupol?” Zelensky asked the Hungarian Prime Minister. “Please, if you can, go to your shore and you will see that massacres can take place today.”

“And Russia is doing it today. The same shoes. In Mariupol – there are the same people. Adults and children. And grandfathers and grandmothers. And there are thousands of them. And these thousands are no more. But you hesitate – to impose sanctions or not to impose? “It’s time to decide,” Zelensky urged.

He emphasized that Ukraine needed support.

“We believe in you. We need your support. We believe in your people. We believe in the European Union. And we believe that Germany will be with us at a crucial moment,” he said.
