The administration of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky proposed to change the name of the Ukrainian state. Oleksiy Arestovich, an advisor to the head of Zelenskiy’s office, proposed to name Ukraine Rus-Ukraine. He made such a proposal in an interview with journalist Roman Tsimbalyuk.
According to Arestovich, the renaming of Ukraine into Rus-Ukraine will be the restoration of historical justice. The adviser to the head of Zelensky’s administration believes that Russia needs to “take away the brand of the Russians.”
Arestovich noted that now “a Russian-Russian war is underway,” and “Russia is us … the Rus, the Rusyns.” At the same time, Arestovich emphasized that now in Ukraine they are working on this, although he did not explain what this work is about and how serious the plans to rename the country are.
