“Russia has violated” about 400 different international treaties, “said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to the BBC.
“Only during Russia’s war against Ukraine, and I want to remind you that it began in 2014, not on February 24, 2022, Russia has violated about 400 different international treaties that our countries have agreed on.” he claims.
The president gave numerous examples of treaties he claims Russia has violated, including the UN Charter, BGNES reported.
He said people should remember the Budapest Memorandum, claiming that Russia had “added maximum cynicism to the whole picture” by violating it.
The Budapest Memorandum is a 1994 agreement in which Ukraine renounces nuclear weapons it inherited from the Soviet era in exchange for “guarantees” for its future security agreed by Russia, the United States and Britain.
