The Ukrainian leader approved the Regulation on the Center for Counteracting Disinformation, which defines the goals and objectives of the structure.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decree No. 187/2021 Disinformation Counteraction Center Questions (CPD), reported on Friday, May 7, the press service of the head of state.
The document establishes that the CPD is subordinate to the National Security and Defense Council. The head of the Center is appointed and dismissed by the head of state on the recommendation of the NSDC secretary.
So, the tasks of the CPD include:

counteraction to both existing and projected threats to national security and national interests in the information sphere;

identification and counteraction to disinformation, propaganda, destructive informational influences and campaigns;

prevention of attempts to manipulate public opinion;

identification and study of current and projected threats to information security of Ukraine, factors affecting their formation, as well as forecasting the consequences for national interests.

providing the NSDC with information and analytical materials on information security of Ukraine;
-
development and implementation of the Information Security Strategy, analysis of the state of its implementation, in particular, on countering disinformation.
As stated in the Regulation, the staff of the Center can be a maximum of 52 people. The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to determine the terms of payment for their labor within two weeks.
Recall at the end of March the president ordered the establishment of the Center countering disinformation, which will focus on cooperation with non-governmental organizations.
Formerly head of the President’s Office Andrei Ermak introduced the head of the CPD Polina Lysenko. According to him, the Center has already started working in the OP.
