Zelensky says Ukraine needs to “launch long-range strikes” against Russia

MADRID, 4 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that Ukraine needs to carry out “long-range strikes against the Russian occupier” in order to protect the lives of its civilians and end the conflict that began after the invasion on February 24, 2022.

“To all those who continue to tell our partners with absolute clarity that Ukraine needs to carry out strikes, long-range strikes against the Russian occupier. Wherever the occupier is, wherever Russia attacks Ukraine, wherever it launches missiles, Shahed drones, bombs. We need this decision to be able to use all weapons that can be effective,” the president argued in his daily evening address.

Zelensky stressed the need to protect his people and end the conflict on Ukrainian soil, arguing that “every attack that responds accurately to Russian air strikes” or that “destroys Moscow’s logistics and bases” “brings a just end to the war closer.”

“It is fair for us, for the world, for Ukraine. For all those who value life,” the Ukrainian president said, thanking the country’s Armed Forces and Intelligence and National Security services, as well as “all (the) partners who continue to put pressure on Russia” with their sanctions and “other forms of pressure.”

Zelensky has expressed optimism and predicted that “there will be real peace” for Ukrainians and that this will come “if we do not show weakness and stick to the path of justice.”
