The Ukrainian leader expressed interest in further expanding Apple’s presence in Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook on Thursday, September 2, told the interlocutor about the achievements of the domestic IT sector, reported press service of the head of the Ukrainian state.
So, during negotiations in the city of Cupertino, USA, Zelensky noted the success of Apple and stressed that the official opening of the company’s office in Ukraine is additional evidence of the prospects of the Ukrainian market.
In addition, the president told Cook about the achievements of our state in the IT field and expressed interest in further expanding Apple’s presence in Ukraine, in particular, thanks to online support teams, Apple Music and AppStore moderators, as well as device service.
In addition, the parties raised the issue of Apple’s construction of a data center for iCloud services in Ukraine following the example of the Danish one. It was about the localization of Apple products and the Ukrainianization of the personal assistant Siri.
Zelensky and Cook also discussed the possibility of cooperation in the direction of education in the field of programming for schoolchildren, students, veterans, healthcare workers and the provision of computers with computers for schools and teachers – in support of those programs that are already being implemented in Ukraine.
Finally, the Ukrainian leader and his team presented the Diya City project to the Apple CEO. At the same time, Zelensky asked about the population census project that Apple successfully implemented in the United States, and the possibility of cooperation in the implementation of a similar task in Ukraine.
As reported, on the eve of Vladimir Zelensky, as part of a working visit to the United States, arrived in the state of California. Besides meeting Tim Cook, he has it planned a speech at Stanford University, communication with leading investors and venture capital funds of Silicon Valley, as well as a meeting with Ukrainian entrepreneurs and specialists of the valley.
