The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky he said his country would not participate in the summit G20 future. This is done if Russian President Vladimir Put in present in Bali.
Reported by AFP, on Friday (4/11/2022) Zelensky’s statement was made at a press conference with Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou in Kiev on Thursday (11/3) local time. Putin himself has not said whether he will participate.
“If the leaders of the Russian Federation take part, Ukraine will not participate,” Zelensky said.
Putin could come to the G20
As is well known, Russian President Vladimir Putin is evaluating the possibility of attending the G20 summit in Bali. Putin’s comments came as he spoke at the plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
As reported by the Russian news agency TASS, on Friday (28/10), Putin’s last comments were made when he spoke at the plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club which was held on Thursday (27/10/2022) now local. The forum is a forum for international foreign policy experts.
“I am very grateful to the (Indonesian) authorities and President Joko Widodo for the invitation to attend the G20 summit,” Putin told the forum.
“We will think about how to manage it,” he added.
In his statement, Putin confirmed the presence of high-level representatives of Russia at the G20 summit in Bali afterwards. He also revealed the possibility of attending in person, while admitting that he actually is still able to consider it.
“Russia will obviously be there with a very high level (of representatives). Maybe I’ll be there too, but I’ll think about it,” Putin said.
The G20 Summit will be held in Bali from 15 to 16 November. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said last August that he had received assurances from Putin that he would attend the G20 summit.
Jokowi also said that the same guarantee was passed on by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“Xi Jinping will come. President Putin also told me he will come,” said Jokowi quoted by Bloomberg at the time.
