According to the President of Ukraine, he met with the US leader.
“As part of an ongoing dialogue, I had another conversation with Biden. Security issues, financial support for Ukraine and the continuation of the sanctions policy against the Russian Federation were on the agenda,” Zelensky said.
The White House confirmed the talks between the two leaders and US support for Ukraine.
“President Biden highlighted the ongoing actions being taken by the United States, its allies and partners, and private business to increase the cost to Russia of its aggression in Ukraine,” the statement said.
It is also noted that the Biden administration is increasing security, humanitarian and economic aid to Ukraine and is working closely with Congress to secure additional funding.
“In particular, he welcomed Visa and Mastercard’s decision tonight to suspend service in Russia,” the statement said.
Biden reiterated his concern over Russia’s recent attack on a Ukrainian nuclear power plant and praised the skill and bravery of the Ukrainian operators who kept the reactors safe.
