The Presidents discussed the need for and possible ways to immediately de-escalate the situation in Donbas and near the borders of Ukraine.
Immediately after returning from Munich to Kiev on Saturday evening, February 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held talks with French leader Emmanuel Macron. About it reported on the Twitter account of the head of the Ukrainian state.
Zelensky briefed his colleague on the current situation in Donbas.
“I had an urgent conversation with President Emmanuel Macron. I informed about the escalation at the front, our losses, the shelling of Ukrainian politicians and international journalists. We discussed the need and possible ways for immediate de-escalation and a political and diplomatic settlement,” the tweet says.
