Zelensky held a meeting on the fight against COVID-19

The only way to avoid a lockdown in Ukraine is coronavirus vaccination. The President of Ukraine called for strengthening the popularization of vaccinations.

This was discussed at a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky on October 11, dedicated to the fight against COVID-19, reported on the website of the head of state… Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, who also participated in the meeting, noted the dynamics of the increase in the incidence in the country.

According to the head of government, over 90 thousand infections were recorded over the past week. A week earlier, this number was 64.6 thousand.

At the same time, he noted that the number of tests has increased – last week 310 thousand PCR tests, 285 thousand express tests and 60 thousand ELISA tests were done. Also during this time 720 thousand vaccinations were made.

The issue of strengthening quarantine restrictions was also discussed. We are talking about the opportunity to visit catering establishments and use public transport for vaccinated citizens.

According to the participants of the meeting, only vaccination will help to avoid a lockdown in Ukraine. Health Minister Viktor Lyashko recalled that 97% of those hospitalized are unvaccinated.

In turn, the leadership of the National Police and the Security Service spoke about the fight against counterfeiting of COVID certificates and PCR tests.

Summing up the meeting, Zelensky said about the need for explanatory work, in particular with regard to quarantine restrictions and vaccinations, using a large-scale information campaign.
