Zelensky has invited the newly elected president of the Czech Republic to visit Ukraine

“I personally congratulate Petr Pavel on his victory in the Czech presidential election. I thank him and the Czech people for their unwavering support. I invited him to visit Ukraine,” Zelensky tweeted.

In an interview with the Czech TV channel “CNN Prima” on Sunday, Pavel said that he plans to visit Ukraine in the spring together with the President of Slovakia, Zuzana Chaputova.

It has already been reported that the retired general Pavel defeated the former prime minister Andrejs Babis in the second round of the presidential elections held on Friday and Saturday. Pavel got 58.3% of the votes, and Babis – 41.7% of the votes.

On March 9, Pavel will replace Miloš Zeman as president, whose second five-year mandate will then expire.
