The number of cases in which security officials and prosecutors are being investigated for their ties to the enemy, puts questions to the heads of the relevant bodies.
This was said by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who earlier today signed orders to remove the Attorney General Irina Venediktova and the head of the Security Service Ivan Bakanov, Ukrinform reported.
“I decided to remove the chief prosecutor and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine. To date, 651 criminal proceedings have been registered for treason and complicity of the prosecutor’s office, pre-trial investigation bodies and other law enforcement agencies. In 198 criminal proceedings, charges have been brought against the relevant persons,” the president said in a video message.

Specifically, more than 60 employees of the prosecutor’s office and SBU remained on the occupied territory and are working against our country, noted Zelensky.
“A similar set of crimes against the foundations of the country’s national security and the revealed connections between the employees of the security services of Ukraine and the Russian special services raise very serious questions to the respective leaders. There will be an appropriate answer to each of these questions,” the president concluded.
